It seems like DSK Motorcycles India are having aggressive plans for the 2-wheeler industry. In order to make their presence felt strong here in India, DSK-Hyosung are all set to launch new scooters and commuter bikes in India. Recently, the company also announced to localize its products to reduce the high costs. The company is aiming to localize all it's products in India by 2018. Currently, Hysoung has 31 dealers across India and is aiming to increase it further.
DSK-Hyosung will launch the GD250N by the end of the next year which will be assembled here locally via the CKD route. The GD250N will take on it's rivals, the KTM Duke 200 and Pulsar 200 NS. A more powerful 400cc motorcycle which is likely to be called the GD400N is said to be in works, which will take on the Duke 390.
DSK also has plans to reduce the price of the GT250R once it starts locally manufacturing it, which will not happen before 2015. The company already is selling GT250R, GT250N, GT650R and ST7 in India.
We feel DSK-Hyosung should really work harder to reach that goal as presently as we can see they ain't selling good numbers. We can hardly notice their bikes on our Indian streets. It's a long way for Hyosung to achieve the goal but I hope that after taking these measures, they are sure to get some good sales in India.
