The Indian market being spiced up with automotives of
different specifications and designs, definitely puts the jugdes of
the unternational-level competition in a dilemma. The above proposition has
been proved by Hyundai’s Grand i10, bagging the much
coveted Indian Car Of The Year ( ICOTY ) award for 2014.
BMW 1-series, Chevrolet Enjoy, Mahindra Verito Vibe,
Nissan Terrano, Mercedes Benz GL350 and the Skoda Octavia made a fancy retreat
by making it to the finals of the most competitive event in the automobile
sector in India. The award was adjudicated by a jury comprising of eminent editors from Top Gear, Auto India, Motoring, Car India, Hindu Business Line, AutoX, Auto Bild, Overdrive and EVO and were presented by JK Tyre.
The Grand i10 surprisingly defeated the Honda Amaze for the top slot. Even though the Honda Amaze is the hot seller with its i-DTEC diesel engine, the Grand i10 is no fluke. With dashing looks and a peppy engine, the Grand i10 has captured the imagination of the youth as well as other car buyers.
No wonder then it won the Indian car of the Year Award for 2014!!
